Our garden space at Mansion in May is finished and ready for visitors.  It is space # 4, “The Lady’s Garden”.  Designed around the existing 100-year-old statue, it is a ‘white garden’.  A white garden gives a feeling of cool serenity on a hot summer day.  The absence of color leads the visitor to focus on the texture and variegation of the foliage.  White blooms stand out in the evening, and are often fragrant.

We built the stone wall to raise the planting area so as not to disturb the roots of the ancient Oak trees.  The patio is the best vantage point to take in the magnificent architecture of the mansion.
